Highway at the Y. Follow the Sterling Highway to the
Skilak Loop Road turn off to the left. Drive on a well
maintained gravel road for approximately 3.5 miles, the

and birch trees with low shrubs.

Reservations:

campground. There is a user pay station at the entrance
to the campground. The fee is $10 per night with a
maximum stay of 7 nights.

Recreational Opportunities:
Fishing for lake trout and boating are popular activities at
this campground. The lake is large enough to see small
sailboats cruising the shoreline. Remember at all lakes
and rivers in Alaska, floatation equipment should be
used. Although some people swim in this lake, lifeguards
are not provided. Swim at your own risk. Wildlife viewing
opportunities include black and brown bear, moose and
many other small animals that live in the hills in the
area. Hunting is regulated. Please review Alaska
Department of Fish and Game (ADF&G) regulations.

Special Considerations:
The campground is open from Memorial Day weekend
thru Labor Day weekend.

Bear Country! All food must be stored properly in your
vehicle or lockers,
if provided, in the campground. Be bear aware!
