Originally developed in 2001 to help friends in Europe plan their Kenai Peninsula vacation,
Tsunamifactor.com has become the most popular Kenai Peninsula vacation planner on the internet. After our
first year online, we discovered that over 50,000 people from forty-one countries had taken our small tour.
Encouraged with such a good response we were determined to do more development. We have added more
campground information, more cities and town information, a flash demonstration of our electronic guide
book, and our very popular Things to bring to Alaska page.

After living in Alaska for more than forty years, we have witnessed the growth of our great state. We are also
aware of the large wave of visitors that come to Alaska each year. This wave is large enough to be viewed
as a tidal wave or Tsunami. These visitors are a significant factor in our economy. Our web-site is named as
a reflection of these visitors. Any time a visitor travels in Alaska, they become part of this Tsunami Factor.

Proud to be an Alaskan, we show our customers what we would show friends that come to visit. Our tours
are written as if you were in our vehicle driving down the highway with us. We describe points of interest
along the way, speak of caution areas, and make stops along the way for photographs. Although we have
documented every public campground on the Kenai Peninsula, also known as the “Playground for
Alaskans”, we of course have our favorites. As you tour our guide book, you will find the campground that
will be your own favorite campground to visit.
